The biOrb Cleaner Pump works like a siphon but has a hand pump to get the water flowing and is really easy to use. Simply hold the nozzle end of the Cleaner Pump in the biOrb aquarium and direct it towards the base. The other end has a blue hand pump which you hold over a bucket. Squeeze the hand pump quickly a few times and water will start to flow out of the biOrb into the bucket. Move the nozzle around the ceramic media to take out waste and debris with the water.

whats the best gravel cleaner

this is what i would say is the best gravel cleaner. CONTACT ME @ Holtonstudios@hotmail.co.uk @LorenzHolton or inbox Holtonstudios on Youtube.

There are many pumps out there, and really it comes down to which is easiest to use. I greatly appreciate my biOrb cleaner pump. It is durable and very easy to use. In my opinion it is essential to an efficient appropriate cleaning of any biOrb aquarium as it eliminates the need for scooping water out and pouring water back in which can be messy. If used in a biOrb aquarium it also pulls loose dirt from the media rock at the bottom level which can collect in large amounts without one seeing it. Overall a great product and worth the money to simplify aquarium care.

I bought this to use on a regular 10 gallon (non-BiOrb) tank. It's a lot easier than my old gravel vacuum to get the water started. I also bought a 5 gallon bucket at Walmart to use with this cleaner. I just siphon the water into the bucket right below, which makes cleaning a piece of cake. Then, I re-use the water by watering my plants and trees outside because I figure there should be some nutrients in it (I could be totally wrong though, never researched it). It's definitely not as powerful as my old standard gravel vacuum. This is mainly because there is a plastic "net" on the gravel end which prevents gravel from entering the tube. The problem I have is that the gravel sticks to the net when water is flowing and obstructs the hole for the nasty stuff to go in. I just have to shake the hose a lot to make the gravel fall off the pump. Overall, this pump does a pretty good job and is very easy to use.

I have a small, half circle, wall hanging, Betta tank and have had a hard time finding a gravel cleaner that fits so I can reduce how much I have to do a full cleaning. I have spine issues that make the cleaning hard and I'd rather not traumatize the fish any more than necessary. This not only fits great but has different attachments depending on how deep into the gravel I need to go and allows for the odd shape of the tank. I love being able to pump to start the water flow instead. I don't have to suck on one end of a tube and try to quickly get it over a bucket before getting dirty fish tank water in my mouth and it allows me to clean the tank better by allowing me to partially empty and refill the tank several times now that I don't have to worry about that gross water!
